SUCCESS-BASED DECISION MAKING

asiadmin Blog 0 0

God’s verdict is on the lips of a kings, his mouth should not err in judgment (Proverbs 16:10).

Seven decisions that determine personal success were outlined by Andy Andrews in his book, The Traveler’s Gift.  Andy hits the nail on the head as he draws from  the life and experiences of several well known historical figures. Come into the Andy Andrew’s School of Leadership.

First Decision for Success—Harry Truman said, “The buck stops here.”  I accept responsibility for my past.  My thoughts will be constructive, never destructive.  I will seek the association of those who are working and striving to bring about positive changes in the world.  When faced with the opportunity to make a decision, I will make one.  Ask not, “Why me?” Rather, ask, “Why  not me?”

Second Decision for Success — King Solomon said, “I will seek wisdom.”  Knowing that wisdom waits to be gathered, I will actively search her out.  I will choose my friends with care.  I will listen to the counsel of wise men.  I will be a servant to others, cultivate a servant’s spirit and humbly serve others and learn from them.

Third Decision for Success — Colonel Joshua Chamberlain said, “I am a person of action.” I can do nothing about the past.  My future is immediate.  I will grasp it in both hands and carry it with running feet.  I am person of action.  I am energetic.  I move quickly.  I inspire others with my activity.  To lead, I must move forward.   I have the ability to inspire and encourage others.  While some wait for God to make a decision; actually, God is waiting for me.

Fourth Decision for Success — Christopher Columbus said, “I have a decided heart.” I am passionate about my vision or the future.  I will awaken every morning with an excitement about the new day and its opportunity for growth and change.  I can end the day happily exhausted, knowing that I did everything in my power to move forward.

Fifth Decision for Success — Anne Frank said, “I will choose to be happy.”   Today I will choose to be happy.   Laughter and a smile are outward expressions of enthusiasm.    My smile has the strength to forge bonds, break ice, and calm storms.  I am the possessor of a grateful spirit.  My God has also bestowed upon me many gifts, and for these I will remember to be grateful.

Sixth Decision for Success — Abraham Lincoln said, “I will greet this day with a forgiving spirit.”  I will now and forevermore silently offer my forgiveness even to those who do not see that they need it.  By the act of forgiving, I am no longer consumed by unproductive thoughts.  I give up my bitterness.  I will forgive those who criticize me unjustly.

Seventh Decision for Success — Angel Gabriel said, “I will persist without exception.”   I choose to stay the course.  I will continue despite exhaustion.  I will focus on results, continuing the process with my eyes on the outcome.  I am a person of great faith.  In Jeremiah, my Creator declares, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”  I will have faith in God and the future I do not see.

QUESTION: If God has placed within you the ability to succeed, what would be the eight Decisions for Success based on your life and philosophy?  Pray God’s blessings on our leaders.
